LILLINGTON – The Harnett County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is now accepting proposals for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
JCPC’s mission is to fill gaps in services for young people by promoting prevention, intervention, treatment and after-care strategies that strengthen the safety of families and the community.
Harnett County JCPC plans to receive funding from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Adult Corrections and Juvenile Justice Division, Juvenile Community Programs Section in the amount of 320,045 $. These funds are intended for young offenders and those most at risk of becoming delinquents.
If you have a program serving youth, or are currently seeking funding to start a program to help serve youth, the Harnett County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council will accept local government proposals for the funding period of July 1, 2022 to July 30. June 2023. Private non-profit agencies and associations with 501-c-3 status. The JCPC will consider proposals for the following necessary programs:
• Development of parenting / family skills
• Professional skills / Development
• Drug addiction treatment
• Treatment of sex offenders
• Tutoring / Academic improvement
• Restitution / Community service
• Youth court / Restorative justice
Mediation / Conflict Resolution
• Shelter care for runaways / respite
• Day programs for juvenile structures
• Reinforcement of interpersonal skills
• Individual / family counseling
Such programs will serve delinquent and at-risk youth for the 2022-2023 state fiscal year starting July 1, 2022. Using DPS funds in Harnett County requires a 10% local match.
Applicants will need to undergo training to submit an application through NCALLIES and further assistance will be available to anyone interested in applying.
