Thai Armed Forces help prevent and suppress illegal narcotics activities

General Prayut ordered at a Defense Council meeting aimed at narcotics suppression and prevention, while agencies under the command of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces were asked to collaborate with the police and competent agencies to suppress narcotics.

The Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces were urged to cooperate with all relevant agencies to more effectively prevent and suppress drug-related activities.

Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered at a Defense Council meeting to suppress and prevent narcotics. Agencies under the command of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces were asked to cooperate with the police and relevant agencies in the suppression of narcotics.

Agencies have been urged to step up border patrols to prevent narcotics smuggling. Efforts to apprehend and prosecute drug-related offenses will become more rigorous. Any civil servant who works under the aegis of the Ministry of Defense and who is involved in

narcotics will be subject to severe disciplinary and legal sanctions.
Deputy government spokesman Ratchada Thanadirek said drug addicts can now access many preliminary counseling channels before starting treatment.

The consultation can be obtained from all public hospitals, whether they are managed by the Ministry of Health or other public bodies. Other channels include the
